ASHTANGA VINYASA YOGA (Very Short)

The ashtanga vinyasa yoga is a system based on the text Yoga Korunta. Sri T. Nama Krishna Acharya wrote what he had learned (oral) from his guru Rama Mojan Brahmachari in the early twentieth century. Nama Krishna Acharya then taught it to his disciples, Indra Devi, B. K. S. Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois and Sri T. K. V. Desikachar, his son. This school of yoga attempts to incorporate the traditional eight limbs of yoga (ashtanga-yoga) as expounded by Patanjali in his Yoga-sutras. Emphasizes Vinyasa (breath synchronized movement) through a stepwise series of postures with specific breathing (Ujjayi Pranayama).








This practice produces internal heat and heavy sweating. This heat purifies muscles and organs, removes toxins and allows the body to be reconstituted. This method requires a lot of elasticity and muscle strength, and is also recommended for those wishing to lose weight and increase strength and elasticity.

Bikram Yoga


Bikram Yoga is a type of Yoga propagated by Bikram Choudhury. This yoga was first propagated in the 1970s with foothold inspirations from hatha yoga techniques. Bikram Yoga classes go on for 90 minutes and are practiced in a room heated to 105°F and having a humidity of 40%.



Bikram Choudhury stated different benefits of his yoga technique. According to him, this yoga technique carried out in a heated room helps in preventing injury and stretches the body making it flexible. Bikram Yoga is beneficial for the mind as it helps in reducing stress and eases out the tension. Besides that it develops circulation in the body and prevents heart diseases.


















Through Bikram Yoga, one can develop the lung system and the oxygen absorption capacity of the body. This yoga immensely develops the lungs and blood circulation process through the extension and compression of the lungs through the asanas (poses).



Through a specific pose, the body compresses a certain body part and restricts the circulation of blood temporarily, which enables more pumping of blood. Simultaneously after that, when the body releases the restriction of circulation, the new oxygenated blood fills the contradicted arteries thereby rejuvenating them.



Bikram Choudhury also teaches ashtanga series. The primary series ashtanga which involves propagating and detoxifying muscles through internal heat are taught as addition to his own technique. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga or ahtanga primary yoga is a popular form of classical Indian power yoga.







The Ashtanga joga or Yoga Ashtanga is propagated through a series of ashtanga poses in an ashtanga sequence in three coordinated series viz. Ashtanga primary, intermediate and the advanced series.
